Illinois Hospital Association Awards Holy Family Medical Center Coveted Quality Award
Holy Family Medical Center was awarded the Delivering Quality with Distinction Award from the IHA on Sept 12th. The hospital’s multi-disciplinary approach to reducing infections acquired in the hospital by patients who are on ventilators, significantly reduced the number of cases of an infection known as Clostridium Difficile Infection (CDiff). The CDiff rate at Holy Family went from 26.7 cases per 10,000 over the last 2 years, to 7.4 cases. The IHA received 67 applications for the award and Holy Family was one of three urban area hospitals to be recognized.
Founded in 1961, Holy Family Medical Center is a faith based long-term acute care hospital caring for medically-complex patients, the only such hospital in Northwest Chicagoland. Holy Family specializes in providing care for patients who are critically ill with complex conditions and must be hospitalized an extended period. Referrals can be made by calling 847-813-3330.
